There is a Far Side cartoon of a young boy sat in front of a telly, games console in hand, oblivious to the world around him. His parents stand behind him dreaming of pages Situation Vacant adverts offering huge salaries, bonuses and other perks for master gamers.
I think this is how my husband must feel. He refers to my office as The Eyrie and like the parents of the boy in the cartoon he isn't quite sure what I am doing hunched over my computer but he hopes one day it will make money.
Occasionally it does, sometimes I actually get paid for the things I have published. More often though the only reward I recieve for my work is seeing my work in print and a bye line.
My dream job would be to have a weekly column in a newspaper or magazine but until that day comes I think this is as good place as any to share how I view the world. Who knows my husbands dream might come true and I might even makes some money.
